Autocar are among the first who tested the 2013 Mercedes SL, a vehicle which comes with many new features if compared to the previous generation.
Just to mentioned a few of those features, the new SL range is based on an all new platform, it is the first Mercedes to get an all aluminium body shell, it comes with a folding hard-top made from magnesium, an adaptive windscreen wipe/wash system and engines which claim to have improved efficiency by up to 30 percent.
The model shown in this review is the 2013 Mercedes SL500 which uses a 4.7-litre twin-turbocharged V8 to develop 429 HP and 699 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, an engine which the German company claims it will return 31 mpg in a combined cycle, and which emits only 212 grams of CO2 per Km.
In Europe the 2013 SL500 starts at around 117,000 Euro, so if you have that kind of cash and you are flirting with the idea of purchasing on of these then hit the jump and see what Autocar has to say about this new model.
