Daimler has officially unveiled the facelifted Mercedes GLK today, a model which comes with relatively modest design changes, higher quality materials, fully revised trims and new infotainment systems.
The most notable changes on the outside include a new front bumper, headlights that incorporate LEDs, redesigned alloys (available in 17, 19 and 20 inch sizes), slightly different taillights and a new rear skirt that integrates the dual exhaust pipes.
For a sportier appearance the GLK is available with an AMG Sports Package containing AMG styled front and rear aprons, a specific radiator grille with chrome slats, AMG daytime running lights, 5-spoke design alloy wheels and a stiffer suspension.
On the inside the 2013 Mercedes GLK received a redesigned dashboard which makes extensive use of aluminium (or optionally wood), a high-end colour display, new upholstery colours and seat designs and a 3-spoke steering wheel.
The Interior Sports package which was available on the outgoing version is also offered on the facelift model, but this time the automaker has upgraded it with sports seats while the rest of the features include a 3-spoke
multifunction steering wheel in nappa leather, ARTICO man-made leather/DINAMICA microfibre with stitching in alpaca
grey for the seats, door center panels in ARTICO man-made leather with diagonal stitching and brushed stainless steel pedals.
As we already mentioned, the 2013 Mercedes GLK has also received a new infotainment system which includes a 5.8 inch TFT display and has the following functions : twin tuner, mp3/wma/aac-compatible CD player, telephone keypad, and with USB, AUX-IN and Bluetooth connectivity.
