Mercedes has revelead the official prices for its new generation 7 seater GL. The car will reach UK showrooms in January 2013 and it will be available in only two version: the GL 350 BlueTEC AMG Sport and, for the first time, the new GL 63 AMG.
The GL 350 BlueTEC AMG Sport is priced from £59,465 and it features a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine rated at 258 hp and 620 Nm of torque. It is enough to see it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds before topping out at 220km/h.
Compared to its predecessor, it offers a 15 per cent increase in combined fuel efficiency to 35.3 mpg UK, and a 14 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions to 209 g/km.
The standard configuration includes: Intelligent Light System with bi-xenon headlamps and LED daytime running lights, an AMG body kit together with 21-inch AMG alloy wheels, privacy glass, an electric glass sunroof, AirMATIC air suspension, Parktronic with Active Park Assist and COMAND Online with media interface and DAB digital radio tuner.
For the first time, Mercedes will offer the GL 63 AMG model in the UK with pricing set at £91,680. The high-performance SUV gets a 5.4-liter bi-turbocharged V8 at 557 hp and 760Nm.
The GL 63 AMG returns a 0-100km/h time of 4.9 seconds and reaches a limited top speed of 250km/h. The AMG variant has a combined fuel consumption of 23.0 mpg UK with CO2 emissions of 288 g/km.
