Kia’s US built Sorento CUV is entering the third model year, so the automaker decided to refresh things a little by fitting the car is a new front bumper and newly designed 17 inch alloys and also by offering customers the possibility of choosing new equipment and packages.
The new Sorento continues to be available in the LX, EX ans SX trim levels, with the range topping SX also featuring LED taillights and 18 inch alloys in the 2013 MY.
The range opening version includes amenities such as air conditioning, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, electric windows and an illuminated vanity mirror as standard, while as we move up, the EX includes leather seating, dual automatic temperature control and rear air conditioning.
On the SX the list of standard features also includes an automatic dimming rear view mirror with Homelink, ventilate/cooler/heated front seats (with memory and 4-way adjustable on the driver’s side), leather seat trim for the second row, stainless steel pedals and illuminated scuff trim.
As far as new optional features, Kia now offers an UVO infotainment system with integrated rear view camera display, roof rails, rear sonar, auto dimming mirror plus heated front seats and fog lamp, and a Convenience Plus
Package with an eight-way power driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped
steering wheel and a first aid kit.
The 2013 Kia Sorento comes with three engine choices, all paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and powering the vehicle’s FWD system, or the optional AWD system.
The first is a 2.4-litre GDI 4-cylinder providing 191 HP and 181 lb-ft of torque (returns 32 mpg on the highway), the second is a 2.4-litre MPI (Multi-Port Injected) 4-cylinder that outputs 175 HP and 169 lb-ft of torque, while the third is a 3.5-litre V6 delivering 276 HP and 248 lb-ft.
