We were just about to tell you about a leaked brochure that started to circulate on the Internet yesterday, which revealed more of Hyundai’s upcoming SUV, but in the meantime the South Korean company decided to make things official, and released the photos themselves along with some new details referring to the new model which will premiere at the 2012 New York Auto Show next month.
Apart from getting a better view at the Santa Fe’s headlights and taillights, we now know that this new model, which will be badged as the ix45 on certain markets, will feature a series of advanced safety and convenience features such as Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and a 7-airbag system that will also include knee airbags.
The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe will also represent the company’s first SUV to feature the Blue Link in-vehicle telematics service through which passengers get remote access features that work with smart devices, voice text messaging and enhanced roadside assistance.
According to that leaked brochure we mentioned, one of the engines that is going to be offered on the new Santa Fe is a revised 2.2-litre 4-cylinder turbo-diesel that will output 222 HP and 500 Nm of torque.
