Hyundai decided to release a pair of photos with the 2013 i20 before before the car’s official premiere at the 2012 Geneva Motors Show.
The photos show the compact hatch from the front and rear, revealing the main design tweaks that had to be performed in order to make this new version more consistent with the rest of Hyundai’s models, especially at the front where the i20 resembles with the i30 and i40 due to its hexagonal grille, new headlamps and restyled bumper.
The 2013 Hyundai i20 facelift has also received a new bonnet, a redesigned rear bumper and revamped taillights, while under its skin the automaker has fitted a new 1.1-litre 3-cylinder U-II diesel engine capable of returning 75 HP. This engine works in conjunction with the automaker’s Blue Drive technologies which help keep CO2 emissions levels at a low level of 84 grams per Km.
A slightly more powerful 1.4-litre U-II diesel unit is also going to be available for the new i20, and in this case we are talking about an output level of 90 HP and 96g/Km CO2 emissions.
We’ll be back with more details on the 2013 Hyundai i20 once the Korean supermini will debut in Geneva.
