Audi has just released official photos and details with the fecelifted Q5 model.
The new Q5 comes with a refreshed front fascia, headlights featuring a
modified interior design, a high-gloss single frame grille with vertical
struts, modified bumpers, updated tail lamps, a new diffuser insert and
redesigned tailpipes as well as new 17 inch/18 inch wheels and four new
body colour choices.
Audi can also equip the Q5 with the optional
S line package or an off-road package for a more unique appearance,
while at the interior, the German crossover now features user controls
with narrow chrome trim, glossy black center console panels, and various
other discrete changes.
At launch the 2013 Audi Q5 Facelift will
be available with five engine options : three TDI diesels and two TFSI
petrols, all of which will combine direct fuel injection with charging,
and a start-stop system as standard.
Audi claims that all these
engine have reduced their fuel consumption figures by up to 15 percent,
and starting with the diesel range, it includes two 2.0-litre TDI units
rated at 143 HP (105 kW) and 320 NM (236 lb-ft) of torque and 177 HP
(130 KW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, plus a 3.0-litre TDI V6
producing 245 HP and 580 Nm (427 lb-ft) of peak torque.
The 143 HP
diesel returns 5.3-litres per 100 Km (44.38 US mpg) and has CO2
emissions of 139 g/Km, while the 177 HP can cover 100 Km on 6.0-litres
of fuel (39.20 US mpg). The Q5 3.0 TDI V6 return combined economy
figures of 6.4-litres per 100 Km (36.75 US mpg), while its performance
figures are 6.5 seconds from 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) and a top speed of
225 Km/h (139.81 mph).
On the petrol front there choices include
the new 2.0-litre TFSI unit which outputs 225 HP (165 kW) and 350 Nm
(258 lb-ft) of torque plus the 3.0-litre TFSI V6 which replaces the
previous 3.2-litre engine and which develops 272 HP (200 kW) and 400 Nm
(295 lb-ft) of peak torque.
The manual Q5 2.0 TFSI returns 7.6 liters per 100 km (30.95 US mpg) while te 3.0 TFSI model enables
8.5 liters per 100 km (27.67 US mpg) consumption figures, and also
achieves 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) sprint times of 5.9 seconds and a top
speed of 234 Km/h (145.40 mph).
Depending on the engine, transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual, an 8-speed tiptronic or a 7-speed S tronic.
The 2013 Audi Q5 price starts at 39,900 Euros for the base model
(150 Euros more than the outgoing version) and will arrive at
dealerships later this summer.
