VW started spreading new photos and details with their facelifted 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan , the small SUV which will start selling in all of Europe and overseas in August 2011.

The two version that will continue to be offered are Track & Style and Sport & Style, dedicated to mixed usage on-road and off-road, and with powertrain options including TSI petrols ranging from 122 to 210 HP and TDI diesels with outputs between 110 and 170 HP.

According to the automaker, the most fuel efficient Tiguans are the 2.0-litre TDI front wheel drive versions with BlueMotion Technology which are rated at either 110 HP (81 kW) or 140 HP (103 kW)
and which are able to cover 100 Km on just 5.3-litres of fuel.

Transmission options includes a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the second choice includes a 7-speed DSG which in many cases can be mated with a Stop Start system.

There are also a number of new high-tech safety systems now available on the 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan, an these include Fatigue Detection which checks the drivers attention and indicates when he needs to take a break, Dynamic Light Assist (bi-xenon headlights), the Lane Assist lane-keeping system and the new XDS electronic differential lock.
