After many teasers and leaks the 7th generation 2012 Toyota Camry has finally been revealed by the Japanese automaker.
The car looks sharper mainly due to its angular shaped headlights and taillights, while the interior promises to be a bit more refined due to higher quality materials, new dashboard design and redesigned seats.
The 2012 Toyota Camry comes with three engine choices and these include a revised 2.5-litre 4-cylinder plant producing 178 HP and 170 lb-ft of torque and rated at 28 mpg (combined cycle), a 3.5-litre V6 generating 268 HP and 248 lb-ft (21 mpg city / 30 mpg highway) plus a hybrid comprising from 156 HP 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol and a 141 HP electric motor.
The 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds, can return 41 mpg combined (43 mpg city/39 mpg highway) and when driven on just electric power (EV Drive mode) the car can cover up to 1.6 miles at a maximum speed of 25 mph.
With sales across the United States expected to begin in October the 2012 Toyota Camry price will start from 21,955 USD, reaching 28,200 USD for the Hybrid XLE.
Bob Carter, Toyota Group Vice President
and General Manager said that "Despite all of the enhancements to
the all-new Camry, prices for all popular models have been reduced with
dramatic repositioning on SE, XLE and Hybrid models, representing the
best value in the segment"
Apart from releasing photos and announcing its price and specs, the automaker has also published a number of videos which give complete walkarounds of the new Camry.
