EVO’s Chris Harris had a change to test drive the 2012 Porsche 911, the all new Porsche 911 since 2004.
Weighting 40 Kg less than the model it replaces due to the usage of aluminium, and featuring a wider body than the last car, the new 911 feels sharper according to Harris thanks in part to its recalibrated PDK transmission and the new power steering system which is not hydraulic anymore, but electric.
Chris also thinks that Porsche has eradicated the under-steer problem from the previous generation (not completely, but around 98 percent of it) and overall the car feels like a real 911.
In his conclusion the 2012 model, which is bigger, feels more comfortable and is more refined, is also a machine that is much sharper, more dynamic and really close to being perfect.
