The 2012 Kia Picanto was recently analyzed by Graham from FifthGear, who travelled to Bordeaux in order to find out if this new city car is any good.
When compared to the previous generation, the new Picanto is more grown up, featuring a sleeker design at both the exterior and interior, and also making use of higher quality materials. Its chassis is shared with the Hyundai i10, but according to FifthGear, the new Picanto is more comfortable and more refined.
Pricing for the 2012 Kia Picanto starts at 8,000 GBP in the UK, or at 8,500 GBP if you desire one equipped with air conditioning, while the top version, which features climate control reaches 11,000 GBP.
Engine options include a 68 HP, 1.0-litre 3-cylinder plant which returns 67 mpg UK and emits 99 grammes of CO2 per Km, and a 1.25-litre 4-cylinder unit which develops 84 HP and helps the 2012 Picanto accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 11 seconds.
Conclusion? Well FifthGear thinks the new Picanto feels a cut above the Hyundai i10 and Toyota Aygo, and is the perfect choice for those who put accent on comfort.
