As the 2012 Ford Focus went on sale across the UK, the journalists from Autocar decided to review this new generation hatch and see if its better or worse than the previous model.
In terms of interior quality the 2012 Ford Focus has definitely been improved, plus there is no other car in its class that has a diesel engine as quiet as the one on the new Focus. Furthermore, Ford says they have added maturity and grown-up feel to the car, things that are also reflected in the ride quality, and the reduced level of noise inside the cabin.
However during this ‘maturisation’ process the 2012 Ford Focus has lost one of the features it was best known until now, and that is driving enjoyment. Autocar’s journalist thinks its handling is no longer as engaging as it used to be, which is a bit of a shame for a Focus.
