GM officials have published a series of details along with an introductory video that talks about the main upgrades featured by the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette.

More precisely, these upgrades include superior quality materials for the interior along with new seats and a new steering wheel, as well as model specific badges, a padded center console and armrests. For the
leather wrapped interior the automaker is also adding a visual touch through contrasting colour stitching (red, blue and yellow) while other enhancements include a new Bose audio system which features 9 speakers for improved cabin acoustics.

The 2012 Chevrolet Corvette will also be available with a new Technology Package (2LT trim) that will contain the navigation radio, a head-up display system, the Bose premium sound system mentioned above, along with Bluetooth phone connectivity and and USB port.

In order to ‘elevate’ performance on the Z06 and ZR1 models, the automaker will also offer a new set of tires (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure) which are basically street legal competition tires, optimised for warm and dry conditions. These tires will increase lateral acceleration by around 8 percent, and will also improve braking distance.

The 2012 Chevrolet Corvette will be seen for the first time at an event held at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky this weekend.

Production will begin in July with with pricing expected to be announced as the on sale date gets closer.
