Brabus has officially unveiled the world’s fastest street legal sedan, which this time is based on the latest generation Mercedes CLS.
Starting from today the car is being showcased in Frankfurt at the 2011 IAA, and its name it the Brabus Rocket 800 as an indication of the massive amount of HP it can produce.
Powered by a 12 cylinder high-capacity engine converted to 800 V12 Biturbo specifications, the 2012 BRABUS ROCKET 800 Mercedes CLS produces 800 horses (588 kW) and no less than 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft) of torque, which had to be limited to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft).
This monstrous four-door coupe will accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h (0 to 62 mph) in a blistering 3.7 seconds (0 to 200 Km/h, 124 mph in 9.8 seconds – 0 to 300 Km/h, 186 mph in 23.8 seconds) while its top speed is a record braking 370 Km/h (230 mph).
The gearbox responsible for transforming power into performance is a seven-speed quick-shift equipped with steering wheel mounted paddles which is also mated with a limited-slip differential, available with various final drive ratios.
Besides the extensive list of mechanical upgrades and modifications the 2012 BRABUS ROCKET 800 Mercedes CLS is also equipped with one-piece Monoblock F alloys wrapped in YOKOHAMA ADVAN Sport high-performance tires (255/35 ZR 19 front and 285/30 ZR 19 rear), and a dual circuit brake system composed from 12 piston aluminium calipers and vended and grooved steel discs measuring 380 x 37 mm at the front and with 6-piston callipers and disc measuring 360 x 28 mm at the back.
In terms of consumption the German tuner says the 2012 BRABUS ROCKET 800 Mercedes CLS will require 23.8 litres per 100 Km (9.9 mpg) in the city, 11.1-litres per 100 Km (21.2 mpg) on the highway and 15.7-litrers per 100 Km (15 mpg) in a combined cycle.
