The Brits from EVO have stepped behind the steering wheel of the facelift version 2012 Audi S5. As you may know, instead of resuming the list of improvements to redesigned headlights, new shiny trim for the interior and a new steering wheel, the German automaker has also made changes under the bonnet where it placed a new 3.0-litre supercharged V6.
This engine comes from the Audi S4 and it replaces the old, 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8, with this unit producing around 20 horses less and slightly more torque. Total output is 268 bhp sent to the quattro all-wheel-drive system via a 7-speed twin-clutch automatic gearbox and the car can also be equipped with the sport differential option for increased cornering abilities.
As you can imagine, all this downsizing was made in order to improve efficiency, but due to the fact that the engine is now supercharged, EVO says the 2012 Audi S5 remains a car that is agile and handles pretty good.
Priced at slightly below 43,000 GBP in the UK the 2012 Audi S5 is almost 14,000 GBP cheaper than the RS5 so overall EVO recons this is a pretty good deal.
