You might have noticed that most of the drive tests and reviews done with the BMW M3 agree that the German coupe represents the benchmark when it comes to performance.
In their latest comparison video, MotorTrend brings the 2011 Ford Mustang GT face to face with the 2011 BWM M3 Coupe who gets driven around track by a professional racing driver.
We remind you that the 2011 Ford Mustang GT comes with a 5.0-litre V8 delivering 412 HP to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox while the 2011 BMW M3 Coupe features a 4.0-litre V8 that packs 414 HP and which also spins the rear wheels via a manual 6-speed transmission.
Even thought the outcome is predictable, the 2011 Ford Mustang GT has proved itself only less than 0.1 seconds slower around the track than the 2011 BMW M3 Coupe, and that counts as a giant win for the Mustang considering its German rival is with around 25,000 USD more expensive.
