Autocar has taken the 2011 Citroen C4 for a drive, telling us what they think about the new French hatchback.
The model shown in this review video is the 2011 Citroen C4 2.0 HDi Exclusive, which means pricing starts at 21,495 GBP and that under the bonnet there is a 4-cylinder 1997cc turbodiesel engine producing 148 bhp @ 3,750 rpm and 218 lb-ft of torque @ 1,750 rpm. The 2011 Citroen C4 2.0 HDi channels its juice to the wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission, and when accelerating from 0 to 62 mph the car needs 8.6 seconds.
Top speed is 126 mph, and in terms of consumption and efficiency the 2011 Citroen C4 2.0 HDi returns 56.6 mpg (combined) and emits 130 grams of CO2 per Km.
Even though the 2011 Citroen C4 is larger, more fuel efficient and more refined, when comparing it to rivals like the Alfa Romeo Giulietta or the Volkswagen Golf, Autocar thinks the French hatch is no better than average.
