The Bavarian automaker has unveiled over the weekend the facelift version 2011 BMW X5, ahead of the SUV’s N. American premiere at the New York International Auto Show in April.
Featuring a series of minor exterior tweaks the 2011 BMW X5 is scheduled to go on sale shortly after its public debut featuring a new powerplant lineup with only turbocharged engines.
So besides the new redesigned front and rear bumpers and reshaped headlights and taillights the 2011 BMW X5 comes with the company’s new 8-speed automatic transmission as standard, while the interior has also received a number of discrete improvements.
Starting with the petrol engines available for the 2011 BMW X5, the entry level xDrive30i has been replaced by the xDrive35i which features the new 6-cylinder turbo unit under the bonnet that outputs 300 horsepower (US spec) or 306 horsepower (European spec) and at the top of the range we find the xDrive50i powered by an 4.4-litre V8 that produces 400 horsepower (US spec) and 407 horsepower (European spec).
As far as diesel motorisation options for the 2011 BMW X5 they include the 245 horsepower straight-six unit for the xDrive30d while the xDrive40d produces 306 horsepower thanks to the revised 3.0-litre inline-six from under the bonnet.
The 2011 BMW X5 price for US starts at 46,675 USD for the xDrive35i while the top of the line xDrive50i is priced at 59,275 USD. As for the 2011 BMW X5 xDrive35d pricing starts at 52,175 USD.
