At the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Mr. Steve Saleen is presenting the first official images with the 2010 SMS 620 Chevrolet Camaro, a high-performance automobile that will get produced by SMS Supercars.
Talking about the 2010 SMS 620 Chevrolet Camaro, Chief Creative Officer of SMS, Phil Frank indicates that besides offering a sportier aspect, all the elements that have been fitted are also functional, like the SMS Red Butterfly Dual Side Induction Hood and the other race-proven aerodynamic components.
The 2010 SMS 620 Chevrolet Camaro features a bespoke interior that includes high-performance gauges and the all-new Alcantara and leather SMS performance seats.
As far as power gains the 2010 SMS 620 Chevrolet Camaro has been fitted with the (patent pending) SMS 296 Supercharger that enables the 6.2-litre V8 engine from under the hood to develop a massive 575 horsepower and 600 ft-lb of torque. An ‘X’ version will also be offered that will unleash 700 horsepower and 700 ft-lb of torque, together with an optimized suspension, better wheels and brakes and a limited slip differential.
When accelerating from 0 to 60 mph the 2010 SMS 620 Chevrolet Camaro needs 4.3 seconds while the ‘X’ variant takes around 4.0 seconds. 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions will be available and market launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2010.
