1.2 million diesel cars made by Skoda have the cheating device

Skoda has announced today that 1.2 million cars equipped with the emission cheating device were sold. The news came after a few hours after Audi told us that 2.1 million cars sold have the same special software. 

As a short reminder, 5 million cars made under Volkswagen logo have the defeat device. For now we can assume that in the coming days we will also get a notice from SEAT. The Spanish company has also to disclose their number of diesel cars sold with the cheating software. 

As you may have read, the 1.2 TDI, 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI engines are now under investigation. It remains to be seen whether the larger 3.0-liter V6 TDI also has the software and if this will be true, it means Porsche is also in trouble.
