UK customers can start ordering the 2012 Renault Megane RS, as the order books are now open, but with the first deliveries scheduled for early April.
The new French hatch comes with a 2.0-litre turbo engine tuned to produce 265 HP and 360 Nm pf peak torque (15 horses and 20 Nm more than before) and a system that allows the driver to change the car’s behavior but choosing between between two modes (default and Sport).
By default the 2012 Renault Megane RS produces 250 HP and 340 Nm while the Sport model takes the engine to its limit, meaning the figures we specified above (265 HP and 360 Nm).
As you can imagine the new Megane RS is quicker in Sport mode, covering the 0 to 62 mph sprint in 6.0 seconds flat and being able to reach a top speed of 158 mph.
The 2012 Renault Megane RS price for UK starts at 24,825 GBP for the 265 Cup edition and at 26,025 GBP for the 265 version.
