MotorTrend has got a hold on one of the 333 exemplars 2012 Audi R8 GT , or better said, one of the  90 units which are slated for the US.
Carrying a price tag of 196,800 USD the 2012 Audi R8 GT is a race track ready R8 straight from the factory, which produces 35 HP more than the standard model due to remapped engine tuning and a free flowing exhaust system.
This mean that total power reaches 560 HP and 540 Nm of torque, plus the car roughly 220 lbs is lighter than the standard R8 thanks to weight optimised components like a thinner wind shield, a carbon fiber engine cover, a polycarbonate rear screen and lightweight seats.
The 2012 Audi R8 GT comes with launch control as standard and its performance figures indicate it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, can brake from 60 mpg back to 0 in 102 feet and also reaches the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds at a speed of 125.1 mph.
